Americano
DESCRIPTION
The main difference between a lungo and an Americano is how they are prepared. A lungo is made by extracting a shot of espresso using the same amount of coffee grounds as you would for a regular espresso, but with more water to make a longer shot. An Americano, on the other hand, is made by adding hot water to a shot or two of espresso.
As a result, a lungo is a type of espresso, but with a higher water volume, while an Americano is a coffee drink made with espresso as its base. A lungo has a stronger and more concentrated flavor than an Americano, as it uses less water overall, while an Americano has a milder flavor profile with a more diluted taste due to the added hot water.
